The entire curriculum of the course is designed to be specific to shooting with a red dot sight on a handgun. Candidates will learn specific teaching methodologies to the items below.
1. RDS characteristics
2. RDS mounting and set up
3. RDS zeroing procedures
4. High Ready/Low Ready/SUL/Compressed Ready
5. RDS occlusion training
6. RDS troubleshooting
7. One handed shooting
8. Shoot and Move/Move and Shoot
9. Kneeling
10. Prone/ Non-Conventional Shooting Positions
11. Shooting from Cover
12. Multiple Targets/Target Transition
13. Shooting on Move: forward/Lateral/diagonal
14. Pivots and Turns
15. Weapon mounted light shooting
16. Handheld light shooting.

Certification Passing requirements:

80% or higher on the teach back portion
80% or higher on the Tactical Fitness basic pistol shooting qualification test
Must be able to perform an 8in or less grouping of 5 rounds at 25 yards. No Time limit and UNSUPPORTED standing position. 3 tries max
Must pass written test with an 80% or higher score

Student requirements

Must be a current LEO/MIL firearms instructor
Must have current experience shooting with a handgun red dot sight
600 rounds on factory ammunition – duty or FMJ
Recommended to have but not required: Sight installation tools
Torque wrench
Loctite
Battery
iMarker for witness marking
Duty belt, holster, spare magazines
Weapon and handheld lights.
Regular range gear.

Ron

Ron was the first “Tzabar” (Jewish person born in Israel) of his family which emigrated from the Soviet Union to Israel in 1992. In 2001, Ron’s family was relocated to the United States due to his fathers work. At the age of 16, Ron became the youngest certified Krav Maga instructor in the United States through Krav Maga Worldwide. Even though Israel has mandatory military service Ron did not have to serve as he left the country before age fourteen. Nevertheless, Ron always felt a strong connection to his people and his homeland and immediately after high school, joined the Israeli Defense Force.

Shawn Meissner:

Shawn Meissner is a Master Peace Officer and TCOLE Advanced Instructor with over twenty-five years of experience. Magna Cum Laude graduate from the University of Texas at Tyler with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in “Training and Development,” along with graduate course work in “Human Resource Development.”
