Course Overview:

Our Close Quarter Family Protector Courses delve deep into third-party protection tactics, arming participants with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate potentially dangerous situations in common places such as gas stations, restaurants, crowded areas, and events. The training includes close-quarters combat and principal evacuation techniques, which are practised in live-fire scenarios.

Live Fire Third-Party Protection Drills:

Participants will not only learn the theoretical aspects but will also engage in live-fire drills to apply their skills effectively. The courses culminate in a series of full-contact Force on-Force scenario simulations, challenging individuals in fast-paced, dynamic threat environments. This provides a unique opportunity for participants to validate their knowledge and skills as third-party protectors.

Prerequisites:

These courses are not for beginners. Participants must have graduated from a handgun fundamentals course with Tactical Fitness Austin or be independently approved by the instructor. There are no refunds for students who disregard these requirements.

What You’ll Need:

Shooting Gear:

  • Semi-Automatic Pistol + ammo (approximately 400 rounds)
  • 3-4 magazines (bring 6-8 if low capacity)
  • KYDEX or polymer robust and safety-compliant holster (NO SURPA STYLE or COLLAPSIBLE HOLSTERS, NO INDEX RELEASE HOLSTERS)
  • Magazine pouch (IWB or belt paddle/loop)
  • Ballistic eye protection
  • Noise-canceling hearing protection
  • Baseball cap/hat

Simulations Gear:

  • Groin guard
  • Shooting gloves
  • Long-sleeved sweatshirt or jacket (clothing you don’t mind getting dirty or torn)

Personal Gear:
